The question that
started it all.
For years, I believed that being a 'good parent' meant having all the answers. I consumed every book, tried every strategy, and yet, the daily struggles remained. It wasn't until I stopped trying to control the behaviour and started trying to understand the emotions driving it that everything shifted.
The turning point came on a Tuesday afternoon. We had just navigated what would typically be a monumental meltdown, but this time, we approached it with curiosity instead of correction. The calm that followed was profound. My daughter looked up at me and asked the question that changed my life's work.
“Mum… why don't you teach this to other children?”
I realised then that every child deserves to feel understood, every parent deserves to feel capable, and every family deserves harmony.
